The RNRU Narrative
The Royal Navy Rugby Union (RNRU) has a long and distinguished history dating back to 1906. As both a registered charity and Constituent Body of the Rugby Football Union, we are committed to promoting participation and enjoyment of rugby at all levels within the Naval Service. We are currently in the process of professionalising much of what we do; whilst success in the long running Inter-Services Championship, and specifically the annual fixture against the Army at Twickenham, is a central pillar of our strategy, we are developing our structures and facilities and investing heavily in grass roots and community rugby, as this will provide the foundation upon which we can grow our five representative sides (Women, Veterans (Mariners), Sevens, U23 and Senior XVs). Opportunities exist for players, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators; we want them all to be involved in developing the club, growing our network and membership, and promoting the brand and values of the RNRU.
