A healthy crowd turned out to see the Royal Navy President's XV take on Devonport Services RFC on their home turf, the Rectory, 2nd Avenue Plymouth.  It was a great evening for rugby, crisp and clear, and the teams didn't disappoint playing a game of free flowing rugby, with good support lines and plenty of tries scored.  Final score RN President's XV 58 - DSRFC 14.

This was the third fixture of the season for the Royal Navy Rugby Union President's XV, and their final match before taking on the Royal Australian Navy at Burnaby Road on Wednesday 7 March.  The coaching team have been keen to trial as many players as possible, giving them exposure to a higher standard of coaching and competition than that available at the unit level.  Over 40 players have been seen and the training support staff will now be able to make their selection for their next two games - undoubtedly the highlights of the President's XV season, against the Royal Australian Navy and the RAF Hawks.

The President's team dominated the game at the Rectory but they know that their next opposition is likely to be more of a challenge.  The Royal Australian Navy will be in the UK to play the Royal Navy Senior XV to compete for the Commonwealth Cup and as a warm up to that match they will play the President's XV at United Service Sports Ground, Burnaby Road, Portsmouth.  The match will kick off at 1900, entry is free so come along and support the Royal Navy Rugby Union.
