On a bitterly cold night, the second game of the season saw the RN Senior XV travel to Esher and take another step forward towards the Inter Service 2013 Championship with a committed, skilful and high tempo game in SW London. The RN Senior XV take on Esher in the second game of the 2013 campaign and DoR, Cdr (Andy) Kellett, has rung in the changes,
'It is important we get all the players involved with the squad some game time as early as possible so that they can be exposed to this level of rugby. The fixture against Esher will give the selected players the opportunity to perform at this level'.
Esher always provided stern opposition for the Royal Navy early in part of the season and the RNRU have not beaten the National 1 side in recent years.

This afternoon and evening will see Round 4 of the 2013 Royal Navy Inter Command Competition.
First up are the Royal Marines who welcome Scotland Command to CTCRM, Lympstone (Post code EX8 5AR) KO 3pm. The Royals will be looking to add another victory to improve there league standings after overcoming Portsmouth Command last week in atrocious conditions in Portsmouth.
Then this evening the ‘Inverdale Trophy' holders the Naval Air Command will hope to continue there winning ways when they host Portsmouth Command. The game has been moved from the NAC home ground of RNAS Yeovilton to Ivel RFC in Yeovil (Post code BA22 9TR) with a KO 7pm.
