The Royal Navy Senior Men have completed their preparation matches with a one try loss to Taunton Titans in a repeat of their opening fixture of the year.
Having trained at Norton Manor Camp, the home of 40 Commando, the Royal Navy Men have become familiar with visits to Veritas Park in Taunton throughout 2022. Wednesday night's match was the second time the Navy have played the home side this season and it was a much more cohesive Navy side than the one that took on Taunton in February.
The scene in Taunton couldn't be more contrasting as the game kicked off in the warm evening glow of mid spring, a far cry from the dark, wet and windy weather previously. A small but vocal crowd w...
Both the Royal Navy Senior teams play their last warm up fixture tonight before taking to Twickenham turf.
With one eye on the Army v Navy fixture every player will be aware that tonight is the last chance to show off what they can do and to try anything new.
With the historic first Women's Inter Service fixture to be played in the Twickenham Stadium next week the Navy Women will head up the A3 to Guildford Rugby Club for a 1945 KO against Guildford Ladies as their final preparation. Head coach Lieutenant Commander Charlie Fredrickson said " As the penultimate game in the 2021/22 season this is an important one for the RNRU(W). It will allow us to build on the progress made against...
The Royal Navy Women played their last 80 minutes of competitive rugby before their historic first fixture at Twickenham and they were denied a draw with the last kick of the game.
Coming off the back of a watershed performance against the RAF where the Navy Women proved that they have taken huge strides on their development journey, the Navy travelled up the A3 to take on Guildford RFC's women's side, known as the Gazelles.
Added to the brimming confidence the Navy still had Twickenham starting berths to play for and the side that started against Guildford had that in mind. Unfortunately the eagerness to impress head coach Lt Cdr Charlie Fredrickson resulted in a somewhat loose an...

The Royal Navy Rugby Union men got the opportunity to do just this week as they traveled to Northampton to train with the likes of Dan Biggar, Courtney Lawes and co. The Saints hosted the Royal Navy for a full contact training session as they too prepare for the run in to their season as they chase the...
The Royal Navy Mariners were cruelly denied victory in their first Inter Service match of the 2022 season with the last kick of the game against the RAF Vultures.
In what would prove to be an excellent display of veterans rugby the Vultures pipped the Mariners 26-24 yesterday at Ealing Trailfinders Sportsground in London in the first of three excellent and combative rugby matches between the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force.
Transport issues which affected the team warm up and subsequently pushed all the kick off times during the day back by 15 minutes didn’t seem to matter when the Navy kicked off the match playing away from the pavillion end. The over 35s showed that...
