Beasley Leads in League
Royal Navy Rugby Union prop forward Kye Beasley has been brushing up his leadership skills in the League format of the game. He captained Cornish Rebels to a rousing 36-26 victory over Devon in the annual County of Origin game at Redruth. Kye and fellow Navy player Aaron Hunt caught the eye in the match for both their aggressive defence and also strong ball carrying, something all Navy Rugby supporters will look forward to in the coming season.
With the League season over Kye returns to the Redruth colours in the Union code. Their final pre season match was against Plymouth Albion yesterday, which saw the return of another Navy player Gaz Evans. Gaz played last season at Number 8 for the Navy but was back in the middle of the front row for the final pre season work out. No doubt he shared some delightful banter with Kye. The game itself was a comfortable victory for Plymouth Albion with Redruth unable to contain some of Albion's free running game - a style of play, which will certainly play to Gaz's strengths.
