Bobby Skinstad to captain the Barbarian side against the Navy
Following this weeks sucessful match against the Combined Services, Barbarians Honorary Secretary Geoff Windsor-Lewis announced that South African legend Bobby Skinstad is to skipper the Baa Baas team against the RN in Plymouth on 4 April next year. Skinstad, whose face is now a regular sight on Sky's Rugby Club, is delighted to take on this role and will be looking for another good team performance against a Service team. Details of the match, proudly supported by QinetiQ, will be announced on this website early in the New Year but it is set to be an unmissable fixture, forming a jewel in Navy Rugby's Centenary season celebrations. 'The RNRU is delighted to be staging the match in the West Country on Tuesday 4th April 2006, where it has traditionally relied on great local support for good rugby. This is sure to be a great fixture, particularly with Bob leading the Barbarian team, and we will need to make sure we have our A game on display on the night', said Navy Rugby's Director of Rugby and an ex Captain of the Royal Navy, Combined Services and Cornwall, Chris Alcock.
