OFFICIAL DATES FOR THE ROYAL NAVY RUGBY UNION 2013 INTER COMMAND (INVERDALE TROPHY)
Over the past 12 months and in line with the Rugby Football Union's 6 Key Drivers:

3. Recruiting & Retaining High Quality coaches, Volunteers & Referees
4. Effective & Efficient Facilities
5. Effective & Efficient Management and Governance
6. Integration with the Local Community
The Royal Navy Rugby Union (RNRU) has been focussing on the development of the community game.
As a result, the Inter Command competition has been identified as an opportunity to encourage
more Servicemen to play rugby at the highest level available. To this end we have reconfigured the competition to facilitate more games over a longer period of time, each team will play each other once in a league structure with the top 2 teams coming together in the final. The competition will start on Wed 16 Jan 13 and culminate in the final on Wed 27 Mar 13.
This process permits the Command to play more rugby than has been seen in previous years and will also permit the Senior XV and U23 Coaching teams to view potential Senior XV players and those for development through the U23 set-up. Additionally, the RNRU will be looking to continue with the RNRU Presidents XV following last season trail period.
