DoR view of the forthcoming game against the Samoan Police
Acting Director of Rugby CPO 'Ash' Coates provided a few thoughts on the forthcoming game against the Samoan Police
The Samoan Police have demonstrated that they are a capable side so far in the Competition. They pushed the British Army hard in their opening pool game before narrowly defeating the French Combined Services at the weekend.
The quarter-final game against the Samoan Police on Thu 13 Oct at KO 1300 (Local) will be a hotly contested affair and will provide the RN Senior XV will an excellent challenge in the first fixture between the 2 sides.
What we do know is that they have some big strong runners and contest the breakdown area keenly. We will have to be on our game both mentally and physically to overcome the Samoans.
The losing side bows out of the competition and the winning team flies to Auckland for the Semi-finals. This is a massive incentive as it will allow the team to savour the RWC atmosphere and continue to progress in this exciting competition.
