NAVAL SERVICE REFEREES STEP-UP TO THE CHALLENGE
On a bitterly cold Sunday morning 4 Naval Service Referees answered a late notice call from Gosport & Fareham RFC U13 section - to ensure that a Community Rugby 7-a-side tournament could go ahead.
The tournament was the brainchild of LS (CIS) (Nathan) Moore (HMS Edinburgh), but due to him currently being deployed there was some initial confusion as to who was arranging the match officials. Thankfully a call to the local Service Area Secretary Mr Simon Aldridge ensured that officials were provided, and the tournament could go ahead.
As a fitting conclusion to the RN Officials refereeing, congratulations must also go to US Portsmouth U13's A team who won the tournament by beating New Milton U13's in the final.
