Navy Senior XV Skipper Selected for Barbarians
Dave Pascoe, the Royal Navy scrum-half and Captain, has been selected to represent the Royal Navy as part of the famous ‘Barbarians' Having played against the famous invitation club on several occasions for the Combined Services in the annual Remembrance Match.
The Barbarian side will be coached by former South Africa player and coach Mallett, who guided Italy to a stunning victory over France in the RBS 6 Nations Championship just 9 days ago, will coach the Barbarians in the Mobbs Match (Bedford Blues) 19 Apr and against Richmond 12 Apr.
Other confirmed players in the Barbarians squad for the Mobbs Memorial Match are Leinster lock Stephen Keogh, former Leeds Carnegie, London Wasps and Sale Sharks winger David Doherty who is now playing for Jersey in National Two South, Worcester Warriors hooker Chris Fortey and Llanelli hooker Chris Fortey.
This year mark the 90th anniversary of the Mobbs Memorial Match which honours the memory of Lt Col Edgar Mobbs, the former England, East Midlands, Northampton, Olney and Bedford Modern School winger, who was killed leading an assault on an enemy machine gun post at Passchendale in July 1917.
