Navy Team to Face Georgia in IDRC 2015 Plate Final
The Royal Navy make five changes to the starting XV that won so comprehensively in the semi final against Canada, as they travel to Maidenhead for the Plate Final. Maidenhead’s 4G pitch is sure to suit the Navy’s high tempo game as they look to finish the 2015 International Defence Rugby Competition on a high. Georgia may well ask some questions up front but the Royal Navy should travel in confident mood.
Ben Priddey returns to lead the team and will form a backrow trio with Jarrad Hayler and Dave Fairbrother. In front of them, there is a familiar looking pack where the Malta front row duo of Kyle Mason and Harry Collins are joined by John Court; with John Lamsin and Edd Pascoe packing down together in the second row. There is plenty of experience and power on the replacements bench where Ian Cooper, who can cover most positions in the front row along with 6 & 8, is joined by front row specialists Tom Blackburn and Josh Terry. Ben Fox is the fourth and final forward named amongst the replacements.
Johnny Stephen and Richard Cadywould continue their half back partnership with Matt Tichias returning to join Sam Davies in the centre. Greg Welling continues on the wing, whilst Jon Humphrey returns at full back and Ben Chambers completes the back three on the other wing. Despite five tries against Canada, Darren Bamford has to make do with a place on the bench where he is joined by specialist scrum half, Cory Moore, centre Silvenuis Bunimasi and the utility back Tom Davies.
