RNRU Royal Navy Rugby Union

The Royal Navy Rugby Union Women continue their season and their road to the Inter Service Championship 2022 on Wednesday as they take on Hampshire RFU.

With an encouraging win against Ellingham and Ringwood RFC 3 weeks ago at HMS Collingwood, the Royal Navy Women take to the pitch at Burnaby Road for their match against Hampshire. Their opponents will offer a stiffer test with a combination of Championship 2 and NC 1 players which will provide a platform in which to build leading into the first of 3 capped games, against Marine Nationale.

Sub Lieutenant Rebecca Addis who has joined the Senior Squad from a promising season in the Development Squad said “On day 1 of training I asked how I could get my way into the Women’s Senior Side, so as soon as I heard about the first camp I was there with bells on! In each camp work is being done to step up our game more than before and this has just been snowballing throughout the season. I’ve got a good feeling about the success of the squad this season and Hampshire will reflect the work put in”.

The Women’s match is at United Services Sports Ground, Burnaby Road, Portsmouth and kicks off at 19:30.
