Touch Rugby Competition Bahrain
The above event took place at the NSA Bahrain's Memorial Field and was a great success with 11 British and American teams taking part. The weather predictably turned out nice again with the dry winds and late afternoon temperatures making the usually intense heat bearable, whilst still ensuring that all competitors worked up a good glow and sweat! The event was run over 2 Leagues with the winners of each playing in the final.
HMS CHIDDINGFOLD put in a strong performance with their A & B teams making it to the final. A sudden death situation occurred after a 1-1 score, with CHID B team eventually taking the their beating shipmates. A competitive game was also played against the UKMCC and NSA to decide the 3rd and 4th positions with the Americans ultimately triumphing over the Brits with a 1-0 score. Runners Up and Winners trophies were kindly presented by Commodore Tim Fraser on completion.
The evening was finished off nicely with approximately 100 competitors enjoying the BBQ and bar which was set up and run by volunteers from the RFA Lyme Bay, in the atmospheric surrounding of the NSA Fleet Park.
