Tri-Services Scotland Tournament to be Live Streamed
Tri-Services and live rugby are back... but it isn't quite Twickenham!
The Tri-Services Scotland tournament takes place on Thursday 26th of May at the Oriam Sports Performance Centre just outside of Edinburgh at Herriot Watt University.
Like most events the annual round Robin makes a return after a 2 year hiatus and the Navy will look to retain their crown (of thistles). The last time the event took place the Navy team were bolstered by players swollen playing numbers thanks to the Aircraft Carriers and they will have to do without this time. The tournament, which is held on a 4G pitch utilised by the Scottish Rugby Union and Hearts FC, is played as 3 matches of 40 minutes, effectively giving each team the equivalent of a half against each other.
Lt Al Bodel was gutted to miss the last tournament in 2019 due to operational commitments but couldn't be more excited for this week's matches. He said "getting to play against the Army and the RAF is what everyone wants to do, if you can't get excited by that then you shouldn't be in the Navy. "
BFBS will be live streaming the event on their YouTube and Facebook platforms so everyone can watch the best of HMNB Clyde, 43 Cdo, 45 Cdo and RNR take on their Army and RAF counterparts.
