United Services Portsmouth RFC Appoint New Director of Rugby – Nick Parker
United Services Portsmouth RFC are delighted to announce the appointment of Nick Parker as the new Director of Rugby.
Nick has been involved in rugby in Portsmouth for 15 years so is no stranger to the game and the local rugby scene. Currently also DoR for Portsmouth University he has over 20 years of coaching, coach development and sports development experience. He has been a stalwart of the RFU Game Development Course Delivery Workforce and on the Students RFU National Committee with a spell at the Canterbury Rugby Football Union in New Zealand. He has coached in high levels clubs in the UK, New Zealand and Australia he is a knowledgeable and innovative sports coach and leader.
Despite difficult times for the game in general Nick will be using the time before the commencement of next season to bring the players together through virtual means.
Nick will drive the Club towards the objective of having a full card of good quality Saturday rugby, with the priorities of re-establishing a 1st XV, developing a Colts side to enable the link between a strong youth section and the senior side and fielding regular 2nd XV fixtures.
He is a very welcome member of the USP RFC Management Team.
