Despite limited training time, the President's XV put in a very pleasing performance, running out the winners 26 - 5. The Royal Navy Eastern Command team will face up to the Royal Marines Command team in the final of the Inverdale Challenge competition on Wednesday 30 January. Kick-off is at 1900 at Burnaby Road and entry is free so come along and cheer on your team. The Inverdale Challenge competition sees the Command Teams representing RN East, RN West, RN North, the Royal Marines and the Fleet Air Arm, take part in a round-robin competition throughout the Autumn. The Royal Navy Rugby Union Women got off to a fantastic start to 2019 with victory against Ellingham and Ringwood Ladies at the home of Royal Navy Sport. The Royal Navy Rugby Union Women played their first match of the season against Ellingham and Ringwood at HMS Temeraire on the 4G pitch. 26 players had attended the Rugby training camp held at HMS Collingwood, thereby providing the training team with many options for team selection. Peter Cunningham’s funeral and memorial service will be held at St Mary’s Church in Alverstoke at 1400 on Thursday 10 January 2019. Peter requested that his male friends wore “no black ties – just happy ties” for the service to commemorate his life. Attendance at the Crematorium is by invitation only for very close friends.
