Army Navy – A Match To Relish Whatever Your Age

The Royal Navy U23XV’s season reaches its defining moment at Aldershot on Friday night where a win will regain the Inter Services Championship, last held in 2010.  In wait, the Army U23s who are looking for their fourth consecutive title but have struggled at home to the Royal Navy in recent matches.  For the Navy a welcomed first of the season, where an unchanged squad from the RAF game will look to translate the extra time together with another step forward in performance. Two years ago the Royal Navy were in the same position.  Having won at home against the Royal Air Force they travelled with high hopes to Aldershot.  In a tense encounter they came away w...

U23’s Marching To A Familiar Tune

On Friday night, Navy U23XV captain, Edd Pascoe, will lead his side out for the opening match of the 2014 Inter Services Championship. He knows that preparation hasn’t been ideal due, to opposition cry offs, but he also knows that through his side there is an experienced core of players with previous U23, Sharks and Commonwealth Cup experience. The Navy team will need both on Friday...

Fleet Air Arm Battle to Western Win

With both sides unbeaten from the opening round there was significant anticipation before the round two match between Western Region and the Fleet Air Arm.  Western, buoyed from a comprehensive victory over Eastern, used the fast Keyham surface to open an early lead before the Fleet Air Arm staged a second half comeback to leave with a hard earned win 33 – 15. With the Royal Marines scoring an emphatic victory the night before in the Medics challenge both sides knew that it was important to get a second victory under their belts to see off what is sure to be a late Royal Marine surge in the competition.  In excellent conditions it was Western Region who confirmed that ...
